FAQs

  • Bharat Interface for Money known as BHIM, is an app that allows you make easy and quick payment transactions using UPI. You can instantly collect money and make direct bank to bank payments using just a Mobile number or Payment address. It’s fast, easy and secure.  All you need is a smartphone.

  • Transactions are instant ! BHIM payments are linked to your bank account and are generally completed within a few seconds.

  • You need an Indian bank account that supports UPI payments and mobile number linked to that bank account.  The BHIM App is free to download to your internet enabled Smartphone (Android and soon iOS) and works to link your bank account to UPI so you can make payments through the app.

  • BHIM is free! There are no transaction charges to use BHIM! Some banks might make a small charge for UPI or IMPS transfers, Please check with your bank for more details.

  • Currently BHIM is available now to download on Android mobiles (from Google Play store), and an iOS version (iPhone, iPad) is expected in Jan 2017.  

  • No, but your mobile phone number will need to be registered with your bank.

  • Any bank that is live on UPI (Unified Payment Interface) platform will be listed for us in the BHIM app.

    Currently 36 banks are live on UPI with others going live soon.. All the banks, which are currently live on UPI, have been listed in the Bharat Interface for Money app.

  • Not yet.  You can only link one Bank at a time. However you can swap your linked account at any time by going to Bank Account > Change Account.

  • When you register you provide your Debit card details and the mobile phone number associated with the bank account.  The app will securely load your bank account details from that information.

  • Set the UPI-PIN by going to Main Menu > Bank Accounts > Set UPI-PIN for the selected account.

    Enter the last 6 digits of your Debit/ATM card along with the expiry date.

    You will then be sent a One-Time-Password which you will enter to set your UPI PIN.

    Note: UPI-PIN is not the same as MPIN provided by your bank for mobile banking.
